In this training video, we’ll walk you through the 5PARK Sustainable Travel resource, created with support from South Western Railway. This box is designed to spark curiosity and creativity as learners explore how we travel — and how we might travel better.

Through hands-on, imaginative activities, students are invited to think like engineers as they:

• Build and test hovercrafts, discovering how air can reduce friction
• Explore magnetic rail technology and the future of high-speed, low-impact transport
• Experiment with paper aeroplanes, using design and iteration to improve flight

Each activity uses simple materials to open up big conversations about energy use, movement, and how thoughtful design can shape a more sustainable world.

This is about more than just getting from A to B — it’s about inspiring learners to investigate, problem-solve, and imagine the future of travel.
