We are excited to share our 2023-2024 Impact Report, highlighting the incredible progress we’ve made in breaking down barriers to STEM education and empowering young people. Thanks to the support of our partners, volunteers, and donors, we engaged 10,170 young people across 125 schools with hands-on STEM learning experiences, and we’re just getting started.
Key Highlights:
- Engaging 8,000+ Young People: Through our Big Bang Programme and Support for Schools, we reached over 8,000 young people across 40 schools, providing them with real-world STEM opportunities.
- World Oceans Day 2023: In collaboration with Stephanie Northern from Revolution Plastics, we hosted workshops at The Portsmouth Academy to raise awareness about marine plastics and inspire the next generation of environmental leaders.
- STEMunity at The Mary Rose Museum: Over 100 students from Portsmouth schools experienced hands-on STEM activities, supported by the Royal Academy of Engineering’s This is Engineering Resource.
- Inclusive STEM: We were proud to host the 5PARK Transport Box event at Wales High School, ensuring equal access to STEM learning for students with additional needs.
- Collaborative Learning: In July 2023, students from schools across South Yorkshire gathered at Abbeydale Industrial Hamlet for a day filled with collaborative STEM learning and developing Engineering Habits of Mind.
Why This Matters:
At the heart of our mission is the belief that STEM education should be accessible to everyone, regardless of background, ability, or location. This year, we focused on creating inclusive, hands-on learning experiences that inspire creativity, foster critical thinking, and prepare young people for future opportunities.
Looking Ahead:
Our impact report is just the beginning. With your continued support, we’ll reach even more students in the coming year, creating lasting opportunities for growth and innovation in STEM. Together, we’re shaping the future of STEM education.
