Central to this project is the opportunity for Portsmouth educators to access a wealth of high-quality, funded, professional development.
STEM Capital
For young people to build their experiences outside the classroom.Enrichment
Utilising a wealth of STEM ambassadors and local industries keen to support the educational community, we will design opportunities to inspire and contribute to the STEM capital of the young people at our partnership schools.
STEM Learning have generously created the ‘Super Enthuse Partnership’ the first of its kind. With 21 schools signed up and over double the professional learning budget of most Enthuse Partnerships, this is due to be a huge opportunity for the educational community of Portsmouth. Entering the second year of the programme we strive to build a provision that will be sustainable beyond the end of this funding programme.
O ver the course of 8 years, the city of Portsmouth has greatly benefited from STEM-based training, invaluable materials, and unwavering support provided by the Royal Academy of Engineering. Additionally, the local low-cost professional learning opportunities offered by PASTA (Portsmouth Area Science Teaching Association) and the valuable networking meetings facilitated by the Portsmouth Teaching Alliance have played a significant role in the advancement of education within the community.
As previous projects and organisations have reached their conclusion, a collective of visionary school leaders and dedicated educators recognised the need for a sustained effort to further enrich the educational landscape. In response, they initiated ‘The Portsmouth Challenge’, an initiative that commenced successfully with an inaugural meeting attended by over 40 esteemed leaders from across the city. However, due to unforeseen challenges, the scheduled Autumn term conference did not proceed as planned.
To address this pressing need and provide a robust framework for continuous professional learning, we proudly present the ENTHUSE Partnership. This innovative venture serves as a direct response to the evolving requirements of our educational community and provides a dynamic mechanism to guide and support the development of a captivating, customised Science/STEM curriculum for the bright young minds of Portsmouth.
