The Royal Academy of Engineering have some brilliant STEM activities for school aged students to do at home and all of these activities are context based and curriculum linked. The Vertical Farm activity gives the opportunity to learn about Paul who won the ‘African Prize for Engineering Innovation’ for his brilliant idea, the vertical farm in a box. There are activities that you can complete at home to explore composting and building models using your ‘Engineering Habits of Mind’.

Why don’t you have a go at the activities this week and use the opportunities to help shape and develop your own design for the St Margaret’s Community Church Vertical Farm design. Share photos of your activities and ideas using the #PompeyVerticalFarm on instagram/twitter/facebook and tag @STEM Academy South in those pictures, we’d love to see your designs.
